Understanding the service

Peptide content testing

A quantitative content test addresses the amount of the target peptide on an agreed reporting basis. Confirm the assay’s availability and suitability for your exact material before sending a sample.

Define the amount you need measured

Tell intake whether the question concerns mass per submitted vial, concentration in a solution or peptide mass fraction. Those result bases are different and need to be agreed with the sample preparation and method.

Quantitative peptide work can use calibrated HPLC assays or other suitable approaches. A primary NIST/USP study compared HPLC, quantitative NMR and amino acid analysis for a defined peptide. These examples do not imply that every approach is offered for every compound.

Why a purity number is not a content assay

A relative HPLC purity result does not establish the amount of target peptide in a container. Content requires a quantitative measurement on a stated basis. Ask about the calibration or quantitative reference information and the units in the final result.

Keep a labelled amount, a weighed amount of material and the measured peptide amount distinct when reviewing your report. Do not treat a chromatographic area percentage as a guaranteed vial quantity.

Plan the quantitative request with intake

Provide the label claim, formulation, sample format and any blend or modification details. Confirm method availability, the result basis, required sample amount and any relevant reporting qualifications before shipping.

Check the current testing catalogue and pricing for the accepted request. Start an online draft once the laboratory has confirmed the appropriate scope and follow the instructions issued for your order.
